The Portland cement clinker component is mainly supplied by clinker-producing cement works belonging to Holcim Philippines.

Production of Portland cement clinker
Limestone, marl, clay or their natural mixture, are required for the production of Portland cement clinker. These starting materials are mined in quarries, pre-crushed and transported to the nearby cement works. There they are homogenized into an intermediate product, with additional natural or secondary corrective substances being added to fine-tune the chemical composition. In the subsequent heating process, the Portland cement clinker is produced from the intermediate product. The firing process takes place in a rotary kiln, where the material is thermally converted at around 1450 °C and then rapidly cooled.
The Portland cement clinker is then transported to the Holcim Philippines plant.
Production of blast furnace slag
During the production of pig iron in the blast furnace process, liquid blast furnace slag is produced as a by-product at around 1500 °C. The slag is shock-cooled with water to produce a glass-like granulate with latent hydraulic properties. The blast furnace slag is then stored on heaps.
Extraction of limestone
The limestone is extracted from natural deposits in opencast quarries.
Extraction of pozzolan
The pozzolan (glassy rock of volcanic origin) is mined from natural quarries.Cement Production
To produce the ready-to-sell cement {name}, the cement components are finely ground and combined. A sulfate carrier is added to control the setting behavior.
The Mabini plant is ISO 9001 certified.

            <technologyDescriptionAndIncludedProcesses xml:lang="de">a2 wird im Zementwerk Mabini hergestellt.
Die Komponente Portlandzementklinker wird überwiegend von klinkerproduzierenden Zementwerken der Holcim Philippines geliefert.

Herstellung des Portlandzementklinkers
Für die Herstellung des Portlandzementklinkers werden Kalkstein, Ton oder ihr natürliches Gemisch, Kalksteinmergel benötigt. Diese Ausgangsstoffe werden in Steinbrüchen abgebaut, vorzerkleinert und zum nahegelegenen Zementwerk transportiert. Dort
werden sie zu einem Zwischenprodukt homogenisiert, wobei für die Feinabstimmung der chemischen Zusammensetzung weitere natürliche oder sekundäre Korrekturstoffe hinzugefügt werden können. Im anschließenden Brennprozess entsteht aus dem
Zwischenprodukt der Portlandzementklinker. Der Brennprozess findet in einem Drehrohrofen statt, wo das Material bei ca. 1450 °C thermisch umgewandelt und anschließend rasch abgekühlt wird. 
Der Portlandzementklinker wird anschließend zum Zementwerk Holcim Philippines transportiert.
Herstellung Hüttensand
Bei der Produktion von Roheisen im Hochofenprozess entsteht als Nebenprodukt ca.1500 °C heiße, flüssige Hochofenschlacke. Diese wird mit Wasser schockartig abgekühlt. Dabei entsteht Hüttensand, ein glasartiges Granulat mit latent hydraulischen Eigenschaften. Der Hüttensand wird anschließend auf Halden gelagert.
Gewinnung Kalkstein
Der Kalkstein wird aus natürlichen Vorkommen im Tagebau gewonnen.
Gewinnung Trass
Der Trass (glashaltiges Gestein vulkanischen Ursprungs) wird aus natürlichen Vorkommen im Tagebau gewonnen.Zementproduktion
Für die Herstellung des verkaufsfertigen Zements a2 werden die Zementkomponenten fein aufgemahlen und zusammengeführt. Zur Regelung des Erstarrungsverhaltens wird ein Sulfatträger zugegeben.
Das Werk Mabini ist zertifiziert nach ISO 9001.
